Mixed Time Conditionals
Bazen temel cümledeki zaman ile koşul cümlesindeki zaman farklı "Type"lara ait olabilir. Buna "Mixed Conditional" denir. Genellikle geçmişteki bir olayın şimdiki sonucunu (veya tam tersini) anlatır.

- If he had been more careful (Type 3), he wouldn't be in hospital now (Type 2).
- If I were you (Type 2), I would have forgiven him (Type 3).
Unless (Except on the condition that)
"Unless", olumsuz bir anlama sahiptir ve genellikle "if... not" yerine kullanılır. "Mademki... değil" veya "...medikçe" anlamı verir.

Even if
(...sa bile / sonuç değişmez)
"I won't forgive him even if he apologizes."
Whether ... or not
(...sa da ...masa da)
"I will go to the party whether they invite me or not."
In Case vs. If
"In case", bir ihtimale karşı önlem alma (precaution) anlamı taşır. "If" ise sadece koşul gerçekleşirse eylemin yapılacağını anlatır.

Omitting "If" (Devrik Yapılar)
Daha resmi ve edebi İngilizcede "If" atılabilir. Bu durumda cümle devrik (Inverted) yapılır: Yardımcı fiil öznenin önüne gelir.
